Privacy policy
The short version
CallSitter listens only to the hold while you're away, keeps no audio, and never keeps what you or the person who answers says. Your call log shows exactly what was kept, and it deletes itself after 30 days.
What we keep, for each call
- The phone number you called from, so we can ring you back. Shown to you as the last four digits.
- The business number you called.
- Times: when you called, when the hold began, when a person picked up, when you joined, how it ended.
- Recorded hold messages as text, with numbers, names, emails and addresses removed before they're saved.
What we never keep
- Any audio.
- Anything you say or key while you're on the line, including account numbers and security answers.
- Anything the person who answers says. Once a person is likely on the line, we stop showing or keeping their words.
- Your card details. You key them into Twilio's secure payment system, which passes them to Stripe.
Why we keep it
To hold your call, ring you back, show you your call log, take payment and stop abuse. We don't sell or share your information for advertising.
Who helps us run it
Twilio carries the calls and texts, Stripe takes payments, and Supabase and Vercel host the data and website. They process information only to run CallSitter.
How long
Call logs and call events are deleted after 30 days. You can delete a log sooner with Delete now on the log itself, or ask us to delete everything tied to your number.
California residents
You have the right to know what we hold about you, to have it deleted or corrected, and to not be discriminated against for asking. We don't sell or share personal information.
If something goes wrong
If your information is ever exposed, we'll tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Still to be written
Contact details, how to make a request, children's privacy, changes to this policy and any state-specific terms will be written by counsel before launch.
